Kat is a member of the life sciences team at Mathys & Squire, and works primarily in the field of biotechnology and molecular biology. She has experience in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications in the UK, Europe and worldwide.
Kat has experience in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications in the UK, Europe and worldwide, as well as more generally in the management of patent portfolios. She works primarily in the field of biotechnology and molecular biology, and has particular experience in the areas of peptides, small molecule pharmaceuticals, vaccines and antibody technology.
Kat has a master’s degree in Natural Sciences, specialising in pathology, and a PhD in virology from the University of Cambridge, with a focus on the molecular mechanism underlying genome packaging in the influenza A virus. She also holds a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from the University of London. She was awarded the GlaxoSmithKline prize for the highest mark in the patent examination.
