Newcastle
Our Newcastle office is located in the city centre, close to Central Station, the Helix campus, Newcastle University and Northumbria University.
Mathys & Squire was founded in 1910, and our team of over 70 patent and trade mark attorneys combine their technical expertise, legal insights and commercial understanding to protect and commercialise intellectual property assets of clients across the North East of England. Our clients range from startups, spinouts and SMEs through to large corporations, research institutions and universities.
Our areas of expertise include chemical and life sciences specialisms such as biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, chemistry and chemical engineering, as well as IT & engineering areas such as electronics, manufacturing, automotive, software/artificial intelligence, semiconductors and telecoms. With our broad technical base and collaborative approach, we are also well placed to work with interdisciplinary technologies, and we frequently assign teams of attorneys from different technical backgrounds to secure the best possible protection for our clients.
Mathys & Squire’s Newcastle patent attorneys and trade mark attorneys are actively involved in the local startup community, and routinely offer IP clinics and drop-in sessions (either on-site or in our Newcastle office) for early-stage businesses. In this regard, examples of organisations with whom we work in the North East include the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult (OREC), the Tees Valley Business & IP Centre (BIPC) and TusPark Newcastle.
Our Newcastle team is led by Partners James Pitchford and Craig Titmus, and Associate Michael Charlton. Please get in touch if you have any questions about developing, commercialising or protecting your IP and to learn more about our services.
