Miranda is a UK & European patent attorney and has experience in patent searching, drafting, prosecution, infringement and oppositions in the UK, Europe and worldwide. She has also worked in industry, advising on the patent and trade mark portfolio for a medium-sized technology company. Miranda has been ranked as a ‘Rising Star’ in the 2020 and 2021 editions of Managing IP’s IP STARS directory, a publication that recognises some of the best up-and-coming IP practitioners in private practice who significantly contribute to the success of their firms and clients. She has also been described as having “a gift for project management in large-scale litigation” in an earlier edition of The Legal 500.

Miranda has experience in patent searching, drafting, prosecution, infringement, revocation and oppositions in the UK, Europe and worldwide. She works in the fields of engineering, electronics, medical devices, computing and physics technologies, with a focus on communications and networking technologies. Miranda’s time in industry, advising on the patent and trade mark portfolio for a medium-sized hi-fi technology company, gave her valuable insight into intellectual property strategy from the perspective of SMEs.

Academic
Miranda has a degree in physics from the University of Oxford, where she studied a broad-based course, which covered subject such as fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, optics, condensed matter and computer programming. Miranda received the Ballantyne Prize for achieving the highest mark in the Infringement and Validity UK qualifying examination paper in 2015.

Miranda is a member of CIPA. She was a member of the CIPA Informals’ committee for three years, holding various roles co-ordinating the Informals’ Education provisions such as lectures and webinars, and representing the Informals on the CIPA Education Committee.
