We are proud to be ISO 14001 accredited, and we are committed to monitoring our environmental policies and carbon footprint.
The ways in which we aim to reduce our environmental impact are:
- Work to minimise any waste produced in the course of our business activities. For example we will aim to store and communicate documents in electronic form, wherever possible;
- Adopt an environmentally conscious procurement policy. We will aim to procure recyclable materials, such as paper, print cartridges and drinking cups. We will also procure equipment with inherent power saving functionality;
- Encourage employees to turn off all electrical equipment, such as personal computers, laptops and photocopiers when not in use;
- Encourage a culture where tele- and video-conferencing are used whenever possible to reduce business travel, without disruption or threat to our client relationships;
We manage the impact of our business operations on the environment to protect it for future generations. We strive for continual improvement to reduce the impact of our operational activities by reducing waste, managing our energy consumption and in recycling our IT equipment.
We are also delighted to be partnering with ‘Trees for Life’.
Trees for Life work to protect the Caledonian Forest in Scotland, and we will be partnering with them to plant a Mathys & Squire grove. Trees for Life plant only native trees to restore the Caledonian Forest. Our grove will be in the beautiful Glen Affric Nature Reserve to expand habitats for the species that live there, including the red squirrel, black grouse, capercaillie and wood ant.
We understand the importance of taking responsibility to mitigate any negative environmental impact that running a modern IP firm, with multiple offices, can have.
