Career Ready partnership

Mathys & Squire is delighted to be a partner of Career Ready, a national charity with a mission to boost social mobility through working directly with schools and supporting young people in overcoming educational and employment barriers. As part of our partnership, we provide two internship opportunities and run masterclass sessions for students interested in learning more about the IP profession.

Local charitable activities

In London, we have worked closely with St James’ Church of England Primary School in Bermondsey, on initiatives such as National Science Week and the annual competition to design the Mathys & Squire Christmas card. The London office has also supported the Southwark Council Children at Risk team by providing Christmas presents for children within their care. Our London team has also created a joint clothing initiative with the social enterprise GoodPeople, which works within The Shard to fill jobs with local people. To date three people have found jobs after making use of our clothing donations, including one who had been long term unemployed for seven years.

In Cambridge, we sponsored Charles Cousins, elite British rower, who said: “My dream is to win an Olympic Gold medal, and through support from Mathys & Squire and a few other sponsors I am one step closer. The workman is always more important than the tool. However, in this game, where races can be won or lost by 0.01 of a second, the best tools can help. Now that I have one of the best boats (in my opinion) there is no excuse not to go out there and win some races.”

Understanding the importance of local, new and developing businesses, our Manchester office has partnered with Venturefest Manchester, organised by the Business Growth Hub, to run a competition for new companies to enter, with a prize of a free UK trade mark registration.

We are proud to be a part of the local communities where we work and value our relationships with both other employers and local suppliers.
