Lynsey is a part-qualified Technical Assistant in the life sciences and biotechnology team. She joined the company’s Manchester office in September 2023 after the completion of her PhD.
Expertise
Lynsey works across various topics of Life sciences and Biotechnology such as cell and tissue engineering, gene therapies, nutritional supplements, protein technologies, and new medical treatments. She has experience of patent drafting and prosecution in the UK and Europe, working with mostly universities and SMEs thus far.
Lynsey’s main expertise from her PhD lies in the field of stem cell research, cell engineering, wound healing, and inflammation. Her interdisciplinary background has provided Lynsey with a solid understanding of general engineering principles and a grounded awareness of many aspects of bioprocessing and biomedical engineering.
Academic
Lynsey holds a first class honours BEng in chemical engineering from Heriot-Watt University, an MSc with distinction in biomedical engineering from the University of Strathclyde, and a PhD from the University of Manchester on the mechanisms of mesenchymal stem cells in response to electrical stimulation.
She has achieved the PG certificate in Intellectual Property from Bournemouth University.
