Kirstin is a qualified German and European patent attorney, based in Mathys & Squire’s German office. She works primarily on drafting and prosecuting patent and trade mark applications, as well as opposition and appeal proceedings in Germany and Europe.
Expertise
Kirstin has experience in the drafting and prosecution of patent and trade mark applications, utility models and design applications in Germany, Europe and worldwide, in particular in the field of organic chemistry, polymer chemistry and biochemistry. Much of her work relates to home and personal care products, additives, adhesives, and composite materials.
Academic
Kirstin studied chemistry at the Philipps University of Marburg and graduated with a diploma focusing on biochemistry and organic chemistry. She obtained her doctorate degree at the University of Duisburg-Essen, focusing on bioorganic chemistry, biochemistry and polymer chemistry in 2010. She started working in the field of intellectual property in 2010, and is a qualified German and European Patent Attorney.
