MEng
Jessie is a Technical Assistant in Mathys & Squire’s IT & engineering team. In particular, she has experience working with cases relating to medical devices, and IT and telecoms. Jessie holds a first class degree in MEng materials science & engineering.
Expertise
Jessie has experience in UK and European patent drafting, prosecution, and opposition preparation across a host of technology areas. She takes particular interest in engaging with the UK’s startup and scaleup community. She has been involved in providing intellectual property (IP) strategy advice and support for a number of startup accelerators and incubators, discussing all aspects of IP including registered designs, agreements and licencing, as well as patents.
Academic
Jessie holds a first class degree in MEng materials science and engineering from Imperial College London. Her studies equipped her with an in-depth knowledge of a wide range of materials, including metals and alloys, ceramics and glasses, polymers, composites, semiconductors, and biomaterials. During her master’s project, she applied her materials knowledge to research the degradation of oil paints, in collaboration with Tate galleries.
