Florian joined Mathys & Squire in 2023 and is a qualified German and European patent attorney. He has experience in filing and granting proceedings of patent and trade mark applications as well as in opposition and appeal proceedings in Germany and Europe.
Expertise
Florian has been a qualified German patent attorney since 2011. He has expertise in the technical fields of semiconductor technology, medical technology, automotive technology and general physics. His main focus is on patents, in particular on obtaining, defending and enforcing national and international patents. In addition, he has experience in the field of national and international trade mark and design law.
Academic
Florian studied physics at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich with a focus on semiconductor technology and optoelectronics and graduated with a diploma in physics. He received his PhD from the Humboldt University in Berlin on his research at the Max Born Institute for Nonlinear Optics and Short Pulse Spectroscopy on semiconductor lasers. He began his career in the field of intellectual property at a patent law firm in Munich in 2008.
