Charlotte joined Mathys & Squire as a Technical Assistant in the IT & Engineering team in 2026. She has previously trained at another top UK firm and has also worked as the IP Manager of a medical AI start-up in Berlin.
Expertise
Charlotte has experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in both Europe and the UK, across a wide range of technologies including medical devices, automotive and aerospace technology, consumer goods, and software.
Charlotte has a keen interest in IP strategy, having experience in developing and implementing IP Strategy across the full IP lifecycle in a start-up environment. She has a particular interest in supporting the UK’s startup and scaleup community.
Academic
Charlotte graduated from the University of Leeds in 2021 with a first class master’s degree in Medical Engineering. During her degree, Charlotte focussed on medical device design, tissue engineering, and biomaterials. Her master’s dissertation investigated the material properties of a peptide hydrogel for use in intervertebral disc repair. Charlotte was also awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary, University of London.
