Aymeric joined the patent profession in 2000 at an intellectual property firm in Paris, and later joined the London office of Mathys & Squire. He is a qualified European patent attorney and also a qualified French attorney. He works for a wide range of clients, from individuals to multinationals. The Legal 500 has noted that Aymeric is an “excellent” patent attorney, with “strong technical backgrounds and highly developed legal skills.”
Expertise
Aymeric works for a wide range of clients from individuals to multinationals. He has experience of examination and opposition proceedings before the European Patent Office (EPO), and also patent litigations before the French jurisdictions. Aymeric deals with various technology fields such as mechanics, optics, packaging, medical devices, computer-implemented inventions, signal and image processing, with particular emphasis on telecommunications. He has drafted and prosecuted numerous patent families for a major European company specialising in avionics, optronics and biometry.
Academic
Aymeric has a degree in engineering from the École Centrale de Lyon (ECL) and an international diploma in mechanical engineering (BEng) from Imperial College London, both gained in 2000. He is a qualified European patent attorney and is also qualified as a French attorney (Conseil en Propriété Industrielle), both for patents, trade marks and designs. In addition, he holds a diploma in intellectual property from the University of Strasbourg (CEIPI). Aymeric has recently gained the ‘Patent Litigation in Europe’ diploma from CEIPI.
Recent work
Aymeric has prepared expert reports and testified before the International Court of Arbitration in relation to French law matters in an high-value international arbitration.
