With SMEs making up over 99% of all UK businesses and contributing around half of all business turnover in the UK, the importance of supporting such businesses in their growth and development is clear for driving economic recovery and human progress. A recent study found that companies that own at least one patent, registered design or trade mark generate 55% higher revenue per employee than companies that do not own IP rights. The Mathys & Squire team works with SME businesses to help protect their IP assets with an aim of creating value from their innovative and creative ideas.
This year’s World IP Day, taking place on Monday 26 April, celebrates the role that IP plays in SMEs taking their ideas to market. To mark this day, the Mathys & Squire Scaleup Quarter will be hosting a pitching session, inviting the most innovative UK-based SMEs to showcase their business in front of an expert panel to win a prize of £3,000!
If you think your business has what it takes, please submit an application form here. Applications close on Friday 16 April 2021.
Successful applicants will be invited to our Pitch Day taking place on Monday 26 April from 4.00 – 7.00pm (BST).
