Alexander is a Technical Assistant in the Life Sciences & Chemistry team, having joined Mathys & Squire in 2024 after completing his MChem at Durham University.
Expertise
Alexander assists with the drafting and prosecution of patent applications for a wide range of clients. As part of the chemistry group, Alexander has worked on subject-matter in the fields of pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, materials, batteries, and green technology. Throughout his degree Alexander studied a broad range of chemistry disciplines, with a particular focus on inorganic, organic, and biological chemistry in his final two years.
Academic
Alexander obtained a master’s degree in chemistry from Durham University. His master’s research project focused on the use of ruthenium complexes to catalyse organic reactions. He also holds the Postgraduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary University of London.
