”I would advise a friend who is already fairly certain about pursuing a career in patent law to definitely give the open day a go. It was such a unique opportunity to gain valuable insight into real patent law tasks, such as claim drafting, and to get a genuine feel for what it may be like to work at Mathys & Squire, especially since they involve trainees in real cases from early on. I would also add that it is a great chance to ask any questions about the profession and the role in a supportive and informative environment, hearing directly from people with real experience.”

I take away that Mathys & Squire fosters an environment where everyone can feel comfortable being themselves and contribute to building healthy, supportive relationships in the workplace. We were very well welcomed, and everyone was patient and keen to answer our questions and spare time for us.”

If you’re still unsure about whether the profession is right for you, the Open Day is the perfect chance to gain first-hand insight into the responsibilities of a patent attorney and to ask questions directly to those in the role. The attorneys are very approachable, making it easy to have genuine conversations. If you’ve already decided to pursue this career, the Open Day is just as valuable.
