Tom Bosworth

Tom handles a mix of EPO prosecution, opposition and appeal work, as well as the prosecution of patent portfolios globally. He has extensive experience across a wide range of life science technologies including antibodies, cell and gene therapy, and cancer vaccines. In addition, Tom provides both freedom to operate and validity advice. He works with clients ranging from start ups to global pharmaceutical companies.

Before entering the patent profession, Tom worked for a small biotech company in Cardiff developing sustained drug release formulations and a multinational gene sequencing company in Cambridge.

Tom obtained his PhD in cardiovascular sciences from the University of Manchester, focusing on the regulation of inflammation in mesenchymal stromal cells. Tom holds a master of research degree in tissue engineering for regenerative medicine also from the University of Manchester and a BSc in biochemistry from Cardiff University.

Tom is a European Patent Attorney, Chartered UK Patent Attorney, UPC representative, member of the European Patent Institute (EPI), and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA).
