Johannes joined Mathys & Squire in 2023. He started working in the field of intellectual property in 2016 and qualified as a German Patent Attorney in 2020. Prior to his work in patent law, Johannes was working as a systems engineer and software consultant in London where he acquired expertise in data acquisition, signal processing, control, and automated test solutions.
Expertise
Johannes works primarily in the field of mechanical engineering and IT. As part of his role, Johannes drafts patent applications and assists clients in examination proceedings before the German, European and other international patent offices. He also deals with opposition and appeal proceedings as well as infringement issues.
Academic
Johannes holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Technical University of Munich with an emphasis on medical engineering and mechatronic systems.

Recent work
Johannes has recently prepared some patent applications on innovative solutions in fuel cell technology and battery management systems. Most recently, he came across a patent application relating to improving flight safety of electrically powered aircrafts.
