Dylan is an Associate in the IT & engineering team at Mathys & Squire, with experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications for a range of subject matter. Dylan has substantial experience in prosecuting applications for both software inventions and physical engineering inventions.

Dylan is a UK patent attorney with experience drafting and prosecuting UK and European patent applications as well as managing international patent portfolios.

He also has experience in wider strategic and contentious matters, including assessing the infringement and validity of potentially concerning patents. Furthermore, Dylan has advised clients on licensing and assignments as well as the intellectual property (IP) side of contracts and of purchase agreements.

Prior to joining Mathys & Squire, Dylan worked as an engineer at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL), where he was primarily involved with the software modelling of aerospace systems.

Dylan holds a master’s degree in engineering from the University of Cambridge, where he studied a broad range of engineering disciplines before specialising in aerospace engineering. He spent his third year at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Dylan also holds a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary University and is a qualified UK Patent Attorney. He received the Gill Award for achieving the highest combined score in the UK qualifying examinations in 2019.

Dylan is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA).
