Healthcare innovation has hardly been out of the headlines over the last 18 months, with the COVID-19 pandemic acting as a catalyst for invention. In a crowded market defined by new ideas, securing a strong IP position for your business is more important than ever. Now, UK-based SMEs and micro-enterprises focusing on innovative solutions to healthcare challenges can compete for government funding of up to 70% of their costs – including costs for IP protection – under the Biomedical Catalyst 2021 scheme.
UK registered businesses can apply for a share of up to £18 million of funding from Innovate UK (part of UK Research and Innovation), to put towards developing innovative healthcare products, technologies and processes, with project costs between £250,000 and £4 million. Full eligibility requirements are available here.
The competition opened on Monday 7 June and runs until Thursday 26 August at 11am – for more details and to submit an application, visit the gov.uk website.
