TheHill is an organisation dedicated to facilitating innovation, running through the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. It provides support for innovative technology which aims to make the NHS more efficient and effective, improving the lives of both staff and patients.
TheHill provides various services, such as grant writing, and collaborative programmes for inventors, start-ups and SMEs to enable them to develop and implement their technology and scale effectively. Through our partnership with TheHill, Mathys & Squire have supported their NHS Market Access Accelerator in particular.
The NHS Market Access Accelerator (MAA) is a 6-month accelerator programme, tailored to helping digital health start-ups better understand how the NHS works and equipping them with a solid foundation for commercial growth. This entails offering real-world guidance on navigating NHS structures, procurement and regulations, as well as advice on how to achieve commercial success.
We have provided various intellectual property workshops for businesses within the MAA cohorts, introducing the key aspects of IP: patents, trade marks, trade secrets, IP agreements, design rights and copyright. We advise on filing patents to protect innovation and attract investment, highlighting the importance of implementing a strong IP strategy. The expertise we share is customised to the medical technology landscape, ensuring an insightful and valuable experience for workshop attendees.
