As always, this year’s event was highly successful and received positive feedback from our investors and our start-ups. It is an honour to be able to support the UK angel and start-up community by connecting them in such a great forum, and with advisors and experts such as Mathys & Squire who can help them grow in the next phase of their journey.”
Andrew White, Partner at Mathys & Squire, said: “It is fantastic to continue our long-standing partnership with the Harvard Business School Alumni Angels UK by hosting their annual pitch event here at the Shard. They always have a high calibre and diverse group of startups pitching for angel investment, and we look forward to welcoming them back again next year!”
The pitches
At the event, four cutting-edge start-ups, all with a goal to transform people’s lives and solve key problems, pitched to the audience of HBS Alumni Angels.
Oxford Heartbeat
Oxford Heartbeat aims to dissolve the risks which are inevitable with stenting surgeries. Their ground-breaking technology, PreSize Stenting, is a software platform which allows surgeons to see what is happening inside blood vessels in real time. Therefore, surgeons are able to practice procedures and determine the optimal scenario for each patient, reducing the chance of complications.

Zonova
Zonova hopes to tackle the danger of infections from medical devices, in light of the prediction that deaths as a result of antimicrobial resistance are due to rise a worrying amount by 2050. Hospitals can use their embedded antimicrobial technology in conjunction with a range of existing devices, such as IV and urinary catheters, and oesophageal tubes.

Smart Bricks
Smart Bricks is the world’s first agentic AI-powered property investment platform. It recognises and analyses high-yield opportunities in global real estate markets. This enables deal sourcing, valuation and decision-making to become automatic, allowing investors to transact properties with efficiency and assurance. Within seven months, the company has generated $1.3 million in net revenue.

GNOSIS Health Limited
UK-based digital health spinout, GNOSIS Health Limited is hoping to overturn the way patient care for people with Parkinson’s disease works. Currently, people with Parkinson’s disease receive only 30 minutes of contact with a doctor a year. GNOSIS’ platform, MAXine, ensures patients get the attention they need 24/7. Using conversational AI and wearable devices, the program offers real-time symptom monitoring, personalised insights and clinical alerts for care teams.
