Charlie Dempster

Charlie has experience of drafting and prosecuting patent applications at the European Patent Office (EPO) and UK Intellectual Property Office. He has coordinated the prosecution of global patent portfolios in a wide variety of countries including the US, Canada, China, Japan, South Korea, Russia, India and Australia. He also has experience of EPO Opposition and Appeal proceedings and advising clients on patent infringement and validity.

Charlie has handled a variety of chemistry based subject matter such as pharmaceuticals, oil field services technologies, refinery operations, fuels and additives, industrial chemistry, food chemistry, personal care products and cosmetics. He also has some experience prosecuting applications directed to medical devices and biotechnology.

Charlie graduated from Durham University obtaining a master’s degree in chemistry. He also holds a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary, University of London.

Charlie is a member of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA).
