A significant part of our practice is in the drafting of patent specifications and their prosecution throughout the world. Our attorneys are highly qualified in all areas of technology from the traditional fields of mechanical and electrical engineering through to software applications. In rapidly developing fields, we have the experience and insight to create patent portfolios that will protect the principles underlying your technology and thereby retain their commercial value long after the first generation of products has evolved.
Computer software and business methods are two areas of technology in which patent law and practice differ significantly throughout the world. We are fortunate in having attorneys and assistants within the team who have worked in private practice both in the US and elsewhere overseas, helping to ensure that we can obtain maximum protection in all jurisdictions.
The team is highly skilled in the commercialisation and enforcement of patents. We have attorneys who have managed successful IP litigation in the UK and overseas, two Patent Agent Litigators, and attorneys with experience in alternative dispute resolution procedures including formal mediation. We are skilled in the conduct of licensing negotiations, technology transfer and government contracts, as well as IP audits, mergers and acquisitions and related aspects of corporate finance.
