Graduate Recruitment

We are proud of our graduate training programme, which aims to provide our technical assistants with the best possible grounding in the law of, and practice relating to, intellectual property. We run a series of in-house tutorials that accommodates technical assistants at all levels of part-qualification, including sets of tutorials aimed at the UK Advanced Level Examinations and the European Qualifying Examination. Our graduate recruits are typically sent on the Certificate in Intellectual Property course, and the European Qualifying Examination Course, at Queen Mary, University of London.

Our policy has always been to give our trainees a rounded experience of all matters relating to intellectual property. This means that they become involved from an early stage not only in searching, drafting and in the prosecution of applications, but also in opposition, litigation, licensing, and other more "advanced" IP matters. Trainees are given as much responsibility as they can handle, but always with proper supervision and assistance, to enable them to develop into highly skilled patent attorneys. We recruit with the long-term in mind, and our aim is to train those who join us to become future partners of the firm.

Although we have clients throughout the world, we are based in a convenient, Central London location. This means that our trainees have ready access to the Chartered Institute and other useful facilities. Please note that all graduate vacancies are based in our London office.

We have a sufficient number of trainees at each level of qualification that all trainees benefit from the experience of those ahead of them, as well as from the support of others within their peer group. This in turn facilitates a more structured training programme.

Last, but not least, the firm has a young and sociable atmosphere: we never forget that hard work must be balanced with recreation and relaxation.
