Mathys & Squire has one of the leading opposition practices before the European Patent Office and extensive experience in the enforcement of intellectual property rights.
Our team includes patent and trade mark attorneys qualified as solicitors, patent attorneys qualified to litigate in the Patents Court (Patent Agent Litigators) and patent attorneys qualified (as now are all UK patent attorneys) to litigate in the Patents County Court. Many partners in the firm have personally litigated IP enforcement actions or have extensive experience of litigation, working with professional colleagues before courts in the UK, USA and elsewhere.
We are keen on the appropriate use of alternative forms of dispute resolution, whether informal negotiation or recognised ADR formats such as mediation or arbitration. Partners of the firm have particular skills in this area and have settled numerous high value disputes.
