Simon Eddowes
BSc, EPA, CPA
Simon read biological sciences at Edinburgh University, graduating with honours in microbiology. After graduation he worked in industry for a number of years as a development microbiologist and also as a formulation chemist before joining the patent department of a multinational household and pharmaceutical company in 1990, becoming head of the Pharmaceutical Patent Section in 1995. During this time Simon qualified as a Patent Attorney winning the drafting prize from the UK Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys.
Simon has worked in private practice since 1997 most recently as a partner in another firm of patent attorneys.
Simon’s main areas of practice have been in the pharmaceutical, chemical and mechanical fields; and he has represented a wide range of UK and overseas clients ranging from individuals and SMEs to multinationals, including Pfizer, Bemis, Texaco and Konica.
Simon has extensive experience of drafting and prosecuting patents before the UK and European Patent Offices and in opposition proceedings before the EPO.
