Margaret has an Honours Degree in Law from Nottingham Trent University and qualified as a Solicitor in 1987. She has been a Trade Mark specialist in private practice since 1992, and is a Registered Trade Mark Agent and a Member of the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys.
Margaret has considerable experience in advising a broad range of clients, including multinational corporations, in the development, management and protection of their trade mark portfolios.
In addition to her expertise in the filing and prosecution of trade mark and design applications in many jurisdictions, Margaret’s background as a commercial solicitor is invaluable in her conduct of contentious trade mark proceedings and in negotiating the settlement of such proceedings. These include oppositions and cancellation actions before the UK Trade Marks Registry and the Community Trade Marks Office, in addition to infringement and passing off proceedings before the UK courts. She is an experienced advocate.
