Jane has a Masters degree in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University , specializing in physics. She qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 1984. Although she has spent most of her career in private practice she also has substantial experience as an in-house patent attorney. 

Jane has significant experience in semiconductor process and integrated circuit technologies, electrical and electronic technology, metrology, consumer products, communications and computing technologies as well as some areas of medical technology.

Jane specializes in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the above areas but also has experience in both opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office.
