Anthony has a Masters Degree in Chemistry from Oxford University, where he was awarded the University's Thesis Prize in Physical and Theoretical Chemistry for his undergraduate research. He also has a Doctorate from Oxford University, for further research into the semiclassical and quantum mechanical modelling of vibration-rotation energy levels in loosely bound complexes of hydrogen fluoride. He qualified as a Patent Attorney in 1996, and holds a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from London University.
Anthony specialises in drafting and prosecuting patent applications for chemical inventions. He joined Mathys & Squire in 2006 following more than thirteen years of experience in another private practice firm, and has considerable expertise in protecting a broad range of chemical inventions, including pharmaceuticals, polymers, electroluminescent devices, catalysts, dyestuffs, agrochemicals, chemical processes and general organic and inorganic chemistry.
Anthony also has extensive experience of opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office.
