Competent application of the law is not enough to ensure success; commercial objectives must first be set and then patent, trade mark or design strategies devised to achieve them. We have the skills to understand our clients’ commercial objectives and to create appropriate strategies. Where our clients have clear strategies already in place, we bring to bear our special expertise before the UK and European Patent and Trade Mark Offices and Courts.

A prerequisite for our patent attorneys is a good science degree but most also have advanced degrees or doctorates. In addition to an academic background, many have worked in research or management in industry and this helps us considerably in bringing a commercial approach to our work.

We are skilled in adapting our service to meet the varying needs of our clients, whether:

  • Meeting the intellectual property needs of UK companies;
  • Providing a specialist European service to overseas corporations;
  • Guiding IP-based start-ups;
  • Offering a consulting service to financial, legal and other professionals;
  • Cooperating with corporate patent or trade mark departments; and
  • Advising academic and other R&D organisations.
