Rachel holds an honours degree in physics, a graduate diploma in law, a legal practice course and a postgraduate certificate in intellectual property law. Her work focuses on drafting and prosecuting UK and European patent applications in a range of technical fields, and on providing wide-ranging advice to UK clients on patent and portfolio matters.

Rachel specialises in drafting and prosecuting patent applications and provides portfolio management for direct UK clients, which includes advising in relation to prosecution strategy, freedom to operate, infringement and validity, invention-spotting, inter-party matters, commercial agreements, forecasting and budgeting.Â Her areas of expertise include mechanical and electrical inventions; software; communications and networking; medical devices; data transport including signal processing and signal conditioning; encryption; image processing; metrology; and semiconductor devices.
Rachel has a degree in physics from the University of Oxford. She studied a broad range of modules including solid state physics, electronics, quantum mechanics, optics, thermodynamics, astrophysics and atmospheric physics and was awarded the universityâ€™s BA Physics Essay Prize for her extended essay on astrophysical observation of black holes. She also holds a graduate diploma in law, a legal practice course focusing on commercial law and litigation and a certificate in intellectual property law.
