The recruitment of graduates is a very important part of the development of professional attorneys at the firm and, in recent years, we have increased the number of recruits we seek to appoint annually at this entry point to the firm.
Meet The Team
More information coming soon.
We are proud of our Graduate Training and Development programme, which has been refined over a number of years of experience. Graduate recruits, designated as Technical Assistants, receive the best possible grounding in the understanding and application of Intellectual Property (IP) Law.
As such, our policy on Training and Development is formalised and provided to all new recruits. Our aim is to train and develop for the long term, looking for those who join us to become future partners of the firm.
Much of the training and development is provided ‘on the job’. We aim to provide our Technical Assistants with the opportunity to be involved not only in searching, drafting and the prosecution of applications, but also in more advanced IP matters such as opposition, litigation and licensing. Opportunity will also be made available when appropriate to attend Oral Proceedings before the European Patent Office.
In addition, we run ‘in-house’ tutorials to accommodate Technical Assistants at all levels of part-qualification, including programmes to prepare for UK Advanced Level examinations and the European Qualifying Examination. Graduate recruits typically attend the Certificate in Intellectual Property course and the European Qualifying Examination course at Queen Mary, University of London.
Training and development of graduate recruits is predominantly based at our office in Central London, providing ease of access to the Chartered Institute and other useful resources and facilities.
Our recruits are provided with challenging work and a high quality of supervision, to stimulate their development. However, work is carried out in an informal and sociable environment and there are plenty of opportunities to take part in recreational and social events with peers and other colleagues at the firm.
