Toby has a Masters degree in Chemistry from Oxford University.  He qualified as a Chartered Patent Attorney and a European Patent Attorney in 2006, and holds a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from London University.  Toby joined Mathys & Squire in 2008, having worked elsewhere in private practice.

Toby’s patent practice lies principally in the fields of pharmaceuticals and chemistry. He specialises in drafting and prosecuting applications concerning pharmaceuticals, drug delivery, cosmetic products, diagnostics and medical devices. His other fields of expertise include process chemistry, electrochemistry and separation chemistry.  Toby has substantial experience in European prosecution and opposition work.
