Jane has an Honours Degree in Chemistry from Durham University, and is a Chartered and European Patent Attorney. Before joining Mathys & Squire in 2009, Jane spent eleven years working in private practice for a firm of patent attorneys in London with experience working in-house for a large multinational company before that.

Jane works in the field of biotechnology and chemistry, with particular expertise in gene therapy, antibody technology, pharmaceutical chemistry, polymer chemistry, and food chemistry. Jane's professional experience includes written and oral representation before the EPO in examination and opposition proceedings, portfolio management and competitor surveillance, opinion work, particularly advising on infringement and validity issues, and due diligence reviews.
