Dani has an Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering, and a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, both from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. His broad spectrum undergraduate degree covered a wide range of subjects, from microprocessor engineering and signal processing to power systems, electrical machines and control systems. During his postgraduate degree, Dani conducted research into the use of artificial intelligence for the analysis of medical images. He qualified as a Chartered Patent Attorney in 2008, and a European Patent Attorney in 2009. He also holds a Certificate in Intellectual Property from London University.

Dani worked for a firm of Patent Attorneys in South Africa before relocating to the UK in 2001, and then joining Mathys & Squire. He works on cases relating to electrical and electronic engineering, digital television, information technology, microprocessors and telecommunications, as well as cases relating to mechanical and structural engineering, electrical machines, fuel cells and other environmental technologies.
